True Blood Wiki

While I'm still working on the A-Z swipe, I've been doing other things, as well. As you've probably already seen, I've been adding transcripts for each episode, as well as adding definitive pages for each of the thirteen companion websites built as a companion to the series. I feel each is important for reasons of preservation and archival purposes. One thing, however, that bothers me even more that the way the page layouts are coming along (I'm experimenting with various layouts and tables), are that the videos aren't permanently archived. While the video is saved as a "File:Filename" video file, it isn't saved as a file on the wiki. I had to revert the video of Jace Everette's Bad Things to the original, because the replacement version (also, just a link to a video on YouTube) was changed by the uploader to possess a "Private" status. Because of this, the video no longer played here on the wiki. Therefore, just in case HBO once pulls the plug on all of the True Blood YouTube videos, I would still like to have a "backup copy". A permanent copy that can never be taken away (for preservation and archival purposes). I will eventually try and re-upload all videos in a wikia approved format, so that the video will be a permanent part of the wiki, and not just a video linked to, on YouTube.

Transcripts are still coming. I'm going to be working on both. I haven't given up one project in lieu of another, I still want to do everything I still have planned. It'll just take time. I've noticed that the topic of transcripts was brought up in 2011, to which the reply was that they're usually just subjective and contain speculative conjectures by the writers. I've been trying to stick straight to the facts. Explaining the scene as simply as I can, and letting the viewers make their own assumption on why things in the scene are the way they are, or speculating what the scene might represent.

Many things still to come. - Adamantoise (talk) 03:11, September 24, 2014 (UTC)
