Just started watching the show, but I find the overall concept confusing. The show has all the humans that see vampires as a danger to the community as zealots and hicks. But then we are shown that all the vampires are indeed a danger to the community, and worse eyet completely unrespectful of human law. They do not feel that they need to abide by what we have set as the rules for our community in any way. Even the nice vampires like Jessica have committed murder, vandalissm, and have threatened people. All of these things are enopugh for a lengthy jail sentence, and oddly no one has come knocking on their door yet. As far as I know if the local sheriff is incompetent then the FBI takes over, and an increase in murders does not go unnoticed. So none of the show really makes sense to me. If nothing else you would think the government would insist on having a registration of all vampires ion the country, and a device to monitor them. We do have that right. None of the vampires in the country are actual citizens, as they would have to lie to obtain any identificvation. So they are not covered by the Constitution in any way.   But no. Somehow they are left to roam around, and no one thinks thats weird? You have to be a zealot to notice that they kill people, have their own courts, and their own laws and thus are unfit to be citizens? How does that make any sense? I sort of like the show, but if they don't somehow make this work out I don't think I would keep watching.

The problem is that recently humans know vampires exist, the real changes and the way humans think they must deal with vampires comes later in recent seasons, the show is very good and worth watching :). Nockstar.
