Eugene Byrd, born August 28, 1975 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American actor who plays the role of Jerome on the HBO original series True Blood. Making his debut on the episode "Jesus Gonna Be Here", at the beginning of the series' seventh season, Eugene plays the role of a vampire trucker who is infected with the Hepatitis V virus. Playing a recurring role through the same season, Eugene meets an untimely demise on the episode "Death is Not the End" in the series seventh, and final, season.

Eugene Byrd was born on August 28, 1975 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He is an actor and producer, known for 8 Mile (2002), Dead Man (1995) and Sleepers (1996).

Eugene Byrd started acting early in his life, making his on-screen debut in the film My Little Girl at age 11. His early credits include appearances in The Cosby Show, and films such as Dead Man and Sleepers. In 1993 he joined the cast of the British children series Chris Cross. In 1998, he became a regular on the CBS series Promised Land, a spin-off of the popular Touched By An Angel.

Byrd later held recurring roles in the comedy series For Your Love, and in the crime series Crossing Jordan. He also appeared in the films Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blue Orchid, 8 Mile and Confess, which earned him the Breakout Award at the 2006 Method Fest.

Byrd currently has a recurring cast member role as Dr. Clark Edison in the American crime comedy-drama television series Bones (season 3 - season 10). In season eight, his character is hired as a full-time staff forensic anthropologist by Jeffersonian Forensic Division lead Dr. Camille Saroyan (played by Tamara Taylor). Byrd is credited as a guest star in seasons 3 through present.
