Cooper Huckabee

Cooper Huckabee, born May 8, 1951 in Mobile, Alabama, is an American actor who plays the role of Joe Lee Mickens on the HBO original series True Blood. Making his debut on the episode "Beautifully Broken" in the series' third season, Cooper plays the role of the father of Sam Merlotte and Tommy Mickens. A violent person with a criminal record, he was in jail at the time of Sam's birth, hence his wife Melinda giving up Sam for adoption. Cooper, who knew of his wife and second son's shapeshifting abilities, used his family to fight in a dog fighting ring, ignoring the physical harm he placed on his family. Playing a recurring role through the series' third and fourth seasons, Cooper is a guest starring actor who meets an untimely demise in the Season 4 episode "Me and the Devil".
